Mission of the organisation

To stand as a strong, independent organisation which aims to contribute to the conservation and sustainable use of natural resources in Burkina Faso in order to help improve the living conditions of the population.

Recent Achievements

  • Organised an international workshop on IBAs and compiled a national IBA inventory
  • Trained project personnel and volunteers to work on the IBA Programme
  • Set up local Site Support Groups (SSGs) at two IBAs
  • Continued to develop the IBA Programme in Burkina Faso
  • Continued to organise public conservation awareness through conferences and production and dissemination of teaching materials
  • Finished the first draft of a book on the common birds in the country
  • Carried out, in collaboration with NATURAMA's clubs and association members, land restoration activities
  • Launched a compilation of children's nature stories
  • Hosted the CAP meeting in la Kompienga
